It began
four years ago and was the idea of one of the
volunteers who wanted to honour his family members who had
survived cancer, remember some who unfortunately did not,
and to raise awareness in the community that anyone can help
fight the disease. In the last four head shaves we have
raised over $25,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
The fire department has had tremendous support from its
members, their friends and families and the local community.
In 2009 we are encouraging a far larger participation from
as many as we can. We hope to have participation from all of
the areas fire departments, emergency organizations, any
groups or individuals that can get involved.
The Head Shave is Sunday April 26, 2009 at the Dashwood Fire
Hall 230 Hobbs Road, time 11am to 2pm {later if required}
