We are pleased to welcome into the Dashwood Fire Protection District the area known as Meadowood and encompasses all properties in the Little Qualicum River Estates and the Strata area called Little Qualicum River Village and involves basically 480 properties with an estimated additional 200 more lots becoming available shortly.
     

April 27th. 2008

Just some of our members who had their heads shaved raising money for Cancer.

In just over two hours more than $6040.00 was collected

March  27th, 2008

A donation of $3000 was presented by
Bill Layman President of the Qualicum Legion Branch 76 to Chief Nick Acciavatti for the purchase of additional training equipment for the First Responders program.
Bill was accompanied by Al Gagnon Public Relations Officer also from Branch 76
   


 

December 10th, 2007

Another donation by Crofton Pulp Mill of a fourth tank that arrives at our storage site. This will be used for emergency fire fighting water. STORZ PROJECT

Installation of Storz couplings on all our fire hydrant pumper ports within the Little Qualicum Water Works District was completed in mid January 2007.
 
This project came about following the Great Fire of Parksville in November 4th, 1994.  Following that fire all the local fire departments meet and decisions were made relating to numbering of Fire Halls and that number being incorporated into the fire truck number system so it identified both the truck and which fire hall it belonged to.
